ClerksOur clerks will be happy to advise on the suitability of members of QEB for any particular case and will provide charging rates upon request. They provide practical arrangements connected with any Court hearings, particularly the fixing and listing of cases to be heard.

Howard Rayner

Howard returned to QEB in the summer of 2016 as Senior Clerk. Prior to then he was the Senior Clerk at 1 Garden Court. Howard has responsibility for the practices of all Members of Chambers, the Clerking team and client management.
Outside of Chambers Howard enjoys spending time with his family and following a number of sports (but not football!).

Jon Bartlett

Jon started his career with QEB in 2002 and has been a loyal member of the Clerks’ Room ever since.  We were delighted to promote Jon to the position of First Junior Clerk in November 2016 in which role he has the day to day responsibility for the management of the diary and the negotiation and billing of barristers’ fees.
Jon is a qualified member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks and he has an active role in the development of the junior clerks.
Outside of work Jon's interests include snowboarding, golf and fishing whilst also being an avid Tottenham supporter.

Elizabeth Seymour

Together with her collegues Liz is responsible for the management & development of members practices. She deals with negotiating and billing barristers work, listings, diary management, assigning cases, and is qualified member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks.
Having recently returned from maternity leave she is enjoying being a new Mum. Out of chambers she enjoys travelling and spending time with family & friends.

Harry Tennent
Harry joined Chambers in August 2013. He is a valued member of the team and assists with diary management, fixing cases and general Chambers duties.
In his spare time he plays football for a local team and is a qualified football referee.

Jake Murphy

Jake started his career at QEB in February 2017. Jake has quickly developed his skills since he joined us.
In his spare time Jake enjoys watching all sports especially football, which he plays weekly as well as socialising with his friends and family.
